BRIEF COMMENTARY:
A pioneer of the "discomagazine" format in Spain, Club Auser's PCW User served as the vital hub for the PCW community. Distributed on disk, it provided direct access to tools, patches, and public domain software without the need to manually type in code from paper listings.
A> HISTORICAL REVIEW
Club Auser was founded to address the lack of specialized support for Amstrad PCW users, which general computing magazines often overlooked. Their publication, PCW User, was distributed on floppy disks, allowing subscribers to receive a monthly selection of useful software, file system utilities, and interactive tutorials.
It played a fundamental role in introducing improvements for LocoScript and disseminating Public Domain software in Spain. Each disk contained technical articles meant to be read directly on the PCW, becoming the first digital media outlet dedicated exclusively to this range in the country.
