A> HISTORY AND CONTENT

PCW File was edited by C. A. Bryant under the Amstrad Computing Newsletters label. Unlike mass publications like "8000 Plus", PCW File maintained a fanzine aesthetic (high-quality photocopying) to reduce costs and focus exclusively on technical content.

The magazine served as a hub for programmers and Z80 enthusiasts, offering assembly listings, patches for LocoScript, and deep dissections of the PCW's BIOS and BDOS. Its headquarters were located at Havenview Road, Seaton (Devon), from where correspondence with readers worldwide was managed.
