AnaRosa Technical Sheet (2026 Data)
Emulated System: Amstrad PcW16 ("Anne" Architecture).
Current Version: 1.1.0 (recently released).
Platform: Windows (single small executable).
Status: Active and highly faithful to original hardware.
Main Features
- Hardware Fidelity: Emulates 1MB/2MB RAM and Flash, MF2HD drives, serial/parallel ports, ATA port, PS/2 keyboard, and Mouse Systems mouse.
- Format Support: Reads .P16 snapshots, .DSK and .IMG disk images, and .HDF or .RAW mass storage.
- Modern Extras: Includes sound and joystick emulation through the PcW16AY virtual peripheral (via the parallel port), color output, and audio/video filters.
- User Interface: Supports drag and drop, warp mode to speed up loading, quick boot, and use of PC controllers/gamepads.
Key Differences with CP/M Box
It is vital not to confuse them: while CP/M Box is designed for the classic models (8256, 8512, etc.) that run CP/M, AnaRosa is the only one capable of executing the Rosanne operating system native to the PcW16. In fact, the emulator's name is a wordplay between the "Anne" chip and the "Rosanne" system.
